STILL ON TRACK The Senate has decided to study seriously the proposal to pay all Trial Court workers their proper salaries. Amendment 128 has not been rejected. It has been withdrawn because the Senate leadership indicated that it is deserving of serious consideration. Although this means we will be looking at a supplemental budget, this is actually good news. The persistent phone calls by Local 6 members, their family and friends have made the Senate take notice. Many Local 6 members have reported that their senators are in support of the pay raise. The Senate will be taking up supplemental budgets in the near future. This progressive, step-by-step battle is hard work, but we are confident it is working and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. OPEIU Local 6 will not stop until the fight is won.
