BREAKING NEWS

The Union Has Won the Arbitration.

In what may be the largest arbitration award ever issued in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Arbitrator today ruled that the Trial Court broke its contract with the Union.  The Trial Court has been ordered to pay all affected OPEIU Local 6 members their negotiated wage increases, including the new Step 8, with full back pay and benefits. This tremendous victory totals over $30 million in damages on behalf of the members of OPEIU Local 6.

The Arbitrator’s award is definitive: the members of this Union are absolutely entitled to their promised wages. The Union anticipates that Chief Justice Mulligan will now take all necessary steps to comply with his legal obligation, and not try to delay paying you your earned wages by filing a lawsuit to set aside the award. The Union looks forward to hearing from the Chief Justice to discuss when and how the decision will be carried out.
