Furlough Vote Count On Hold

As we reported last week, the Legislature overwhelmingly approved a budget that restores more than $4 million to the Office of the Commissioner of Probation. As a result, we do not believe it is necessary at this time to open and count the ballots in the vote on whether to participate in the furloughs.

We are optimistic that the governor will sign the deficiency budget so that layoffs or furloughs for probation department members will be avoided.

Thank you to everyone who called their legislators to ask them to pass the budget. Your calls made the difference.
